This 2-day safari to Lake Mburo National Park offers a quick yet enriching wildlife experience perfect for travelers with limited time. Known for its scenic landscapes and unique savannah ecosystem, Lake Mburo is one of Uganda’s most accessible parks from Entebbe and home to an array of wildlife, including zebras, impalas, and giraffes.
DAY 1: DRIVE AND GAME DRIVE TO LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK
We begin the day with a scenic drive from Entebbe heading southwest toward Lake Mburo National Park. As we leave the city behind, you will notice the landscape changes–from flat urban surroundings to rolling green hills and scattered villages typical of Uganda´s countryside.
Along the way, we will make a brief stop at the Equator, an imaginary that divides the earth in the northern and southern hemispheres. Here you will get a chance to stretch your legs, explore the nearby craft shops and take photos.
Upon arrival, we will check in at the lodge and enjoy a hot lunch. We will then head out for an afternoon game drive through the park´s savannah and woodland habitats. Keep an eye out for herds of zebras, giraffes, buffaloes and various antelopes species like eland, impala and Topi. The park is also a birdwatcher´s haven with over 300 species recorded including colorful bee-eaters, fish eagles and the rare African finfoot.
After the drive, return to the lodge for dinner and unwind.
Budget Accommodation: Eagles Nest Mburo

DAY 2: MORNING NATURE WALK AND DRIVE BACK TO ENTEBBE
After breakfast, we will head to the park for a guided nature walk. Lake Mburo is the only savanna park in Uganda where walking safaris are done due the absence of large predators.
The walk, led by an experienced ranger, lasts about 1.5-2 hours and gives you a chance to explore the park up-close
After the walk, enjoy lunch at the lodge before driving back to Entebbe. Enjoy the scenic views of hills, banana plantations, cattle farms and village life along the way.
